ITSD-U is designed as a university-style professional development program for ITSD team members to develop their different skillsets along with cohort of fellow ITSD team members. Team members must apply for a limited number of seats available each session. ImproveIT is a program at the heart of ITSD to support continued success within the division. The program was designed for team members to help ITSD grow from their own ideas. ImproveIT has four steps: 1) collect ideas, 2) asses ideas, 3) implement approved ideas, and 4) share success stories.

ITSD-U Communications

ITSD-U Communications is a professional development course that strengthens team members who have the desire to become better communicators. The program focuses on giving effective presentations, communication in a governmental context, as well as interpersonal, visual, and written communication.

ITSD-U Leadership Graduate

ITSD-U Leadership is a professional development course that strengthens team members who have the desire to become better leaders. The program focuses on Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading and Building Teams, and Leading Change.

ITSD-U Scrum Graduate

ITSD-U Scrum is a professional development course designed to train students on lean adoption to employ an iterative and incremental approach to optimize predictability and risk. Scrum uses formal events for inspection and adaptation allowing teams to be transparent without large amounts of documentation or status reporting. Our Scrum teams focused on the five living values of Scrum; Commitment, Focus, Openness, Respect and Courage leading to trust within the teams they work with.

ImproveIT Implemented Idea Submitter

ImproveIT was designed for staff to help Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) grow. Each submitted idea is reviewed by management and goes through extensive process improvement measures.
